This collaborative workshop provides information about ACEs and how to integrate them into education and interventions focused on children. We highlight the role of protective factors and ways of building resilience in families with the help of schools personnel and at homes with the help of parents, extended family members, and others who raise our children.
At the end of this workshop attending community health workers (CHWs) and others will be able to recognize the of adverse childhood experiences on learning, behaviors, decision-making, and health status. The workshop will also provide information about the ongoing and long-term impact of such experiences through a person’s lifetime. Finally, the workshop will discuss strategies that can enhance protective factors and help build resiliency.
The workshop offers CHES credits and continuing education credits for CHWs. It is being facilitated by educators, public health professionals, and experts licensed in therapeutic and counseling modalities.
